Booking choice: The DIVE.IS meet-on-location snorkel, from $159 per person. Check dates Compare the options below
Every self-drive Silfra snorkel gives you the same thing at its core: a drysuit, a PADI-certified guide, a group of up to six and 30 to 45 minutes floating through the fissure. What changes from operator to operator is what the price covers.
Prices below are the live Viator from-prices in USD in 2026; the fees are in Icelandic krónur (ISK) and come from the national park and the operators' listings.
The quick answer
Meet-on-location drysuit snorkels cost $139 to $159 per person on Viator; the same tours with a Reykjavik pickup cost $189 to $219. If you drive, add ISK 1,000 per car for Thingvellir parking. The ISK 1,500 per person Silfra fee is included by DIVE.IS and Diving Island. Photos are free with Troll, Adventure Vikings and Arctic Adventures; DIVE.IS sells them separately.

How much does Silfra snorkeling cost in 2026?
Self-drive tours cost $139 to $159 per person, and every one of them includes the drysuit, the kit and a guide.
The table shows what each meet-on-location tour adds on top. None of them includes Thingvellir parking.
| Tour | From | Silfra fee | Photos | Rating |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DIVE.IS meet on location | $159 | Included | Sold separately | 4.9 (5,161) |

Want the Silfra fee settled in the ticket? DIVE.IS includes it, along with a heated changing van.
Check dates for the DIVE.IS meet-on-location snorkelHow much more does a tour with Reykjavik pickup cost?
About $50 to $60 per person more than the same operator's self-drive tour.
Adventure Vikings goes from $139 to $189 with pickup, and DIVE.IS from $159 to $219. The pickup versions take 5 to 6 hours in all. If there are two or more of you with a rental car, driving is clearly cheaper, even after parking. See the self-drive guide for the drive and the meeting point.

What is the Thingvellir parking fee?
ISK 1,000 per day for a car with five seats or fewer, ISK 1,200 for 6 to 9 seats, paid once per car rather than per person.
Pay at the machines at the Visitor Centre, P2 or P5, or online on Checkit.is. The fee covers every car park in the national park that day, so you can snorkel in the morning and walk Almannagjá afterwards without paying again. It is excluded from every meet-on-location tour.
What is the Silfra fee, and which tours include it?
The Silfra fee is ISK 1,500 per person, charged on top of parking; DIVE.IS and Diving Island list it as included.
The Adventure Vikings Silfra and Sky Lagoon combo also lists the National Park and Silfra fee as included. The Troll, Arctic Adventures and Adventure Vikings snorkel-only listings do not mention it either way, so check your voucher or ask the operator before the day.

Are underwater photos included?
With Troll Expeditions, Adventure Vikings, Arctic Adventures and Diving Island, yes; DIVE.IS sells its souvenir photos separately.
Troll's guides shoot GoPro photos above and below the water for free, and Diving Island builds its tour around professional photos. Most guests are happy with theirs, though one Arctic Adventures guest reports still waiting for photos six days later. Phones stay on land, so the guide's photos are usually the only ones you get.

Want the photos in the price? Troll's guide shoots GoPro pictures above and below the water.
Explore the Troll self-drive snorkelWhat does every Silfra tour include?
A guided snorkel with a PADI-certified guide, the drysuit and thermal undersuit, hood, gloves, mask, snorkel and fins, and a hot drink afterwards.
Transport, parking, food and tips are not included on any self-drive tour. DIVE.IS adds a heated changing van and cookies; Troll adds a chocolate bar. Guests on Diving Island single out its dry gloves as a plus for cold hands.
Which Silfra tour is the cheapest?
The Adventure Vikings drysuit snorkel at $139, with underwater photos included.
Once you add the extras, the gap narrows: DIVE.IS at $159 includes the ISK 1,500 Silfra fee, and Troll at $146 includes free photos. Choose on time slot, group size and reviews rather than a few dollars. Adventure Vikings also runs a wetsuit or drysuit option at the same price.

Watching the budget? Adventure Vikings is the lowest-priced drysuit snorkel, and the photos are in.
Explore the Adventure Vikings drysuit snorkelIs Silfra snorkeling worth the price?
For most guests, yes: the DIVE.IS tour rates 4.9 from 5,161 reviews, and Troll 4.9 from 3,696.
You pay for a short time in the water, 30 to 45 minutes, and a long time getting ready. The complaints are about the cold on your face and hands, the tight neck seal and summer queues at the entry steps, not about the fissure. Book an early slot and it is one of the most memorable things you can do in Iceland.
